GOOD SUNDAY

It's always exciting to be a part of a special event. Yesterday, the Pohnpeian community along with DCCA (Department of Cultural & Community Affairs), and the CNMI Sports & Recreation Division launched the first Pohnpei Amateur Softball League. The event was held at the newly built baseball field on Capital Hill at 10 a.m. It had spectators and players from all over the island. My family, the Selepeo clan, from Tanapag and Kagman were there to cheer for me. The ceremony was special. The speakers were very well prepared. Their message of appreciation and encouragement captured not only the hearts of the crowd, but mine as well. After the ceremony, everyone greeted me with a "thank you," a hand shake. I left that day feeling great!

At 3 p.m. in the afternoon, my sister, Cinta, my nephews: AJ, Frank and Josiah checked out a clean up at the Light House. When we got there, Bree and Don had already picked up trash from the light house. That was all that could be done. Other members of the beautification team were tied up. We had ice cream and cake before we all split and went home. Yummy!

Dear friend, Anonymous: As you can see - I tried and tried, but I just couldn't hit the damn ball! The coach whispered in my ear "better just focus on the music..." so that I did. I sang the anthems, skipped 1st, 2nd and 3rd and went straight for home. :P
